On Saturday, Dec. 5, hundreds of runners and walkers will have the rare opportunity to race down the runway at Pensacola International Airport during the 14th Annual Runway 5K.

Hosted by Pensacola International Airport and the City of Pensacola, this signature event benefits USO Northwest Florida, an organization dedicated to strengthening the well-being of America’s service members and their families. All proceeds from the race directly support USO programs and services throughout the region.

“The Runway 5K is more than just a race—it’s a tradition that brings our community together in a truly unique way, right here on the airfield,” said Airport Executive Director Matt Coughlin. “We’re honored to once again partner with USO Northwest Florida to support the incredible work they do for our service members and their families. Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, it’s going to be a memorable day, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Participants will enjoy a one-of-a-kind race experience complete with a commemorative t-shirt, official timing bib, and complimentary food before and after the run. Special awards will be presented in multiple categories. Walkers, strollers, and kids are welcome; however, for safety reasons, pets are not permitted on the course.

Friends and family are invited to gather at the start and finish line to cheer on participants, and everyone is welcome to stay after the race for a post-run celebration filled with fun activities for all ages.
