Pets Unstressing Passengers
Pup Patrol
At Pensacola International Airport, we believe travel should feel welcoming from the moment you walk through the terminal. One of the most beloved ways we bring that spirit of hospitality to life is through our Pup Patrol program.
The Pup Patrol, short for Pets Unstressing Passengers, is a team of certified therapy dogs and volunteer handlers who visit the airport to help brighten travelers’ days. Whether someone is feeling nervous about flying, saying goodbye to family, or simply having a long travel day, these friendly pups are always ready with a wagging tail and a warm welcome.

A Little Joy in Your Journey
Air travel can sometimes be stressful. The goal of Pup Patrol is simple: bring smiles, comfort, and a moment of calm to the passenger experience.
Throughout the week, Pup Patrol teams roam the terminal greeting travelers, posing for photos, and offering plenty of pets and cuddles along the way. From excited children to seasoned travelers, people of all ages enjoy meeting the pups.
Many of our four-legged ambassadors even have their own collectible trading cards, which have become a favorite souvenir for travelers passing through PNS.

Certified Therapy Dogs
Every dog in the Pup Patrol program is a registered therapy dog who has undergone extensive training and certification to ensure they are comfortable in busy environments like airports. These dogs are calm, friendly, and well-socialized, making them perfect companions in a fast-paced travel setting.
Our pups represent a variety of breeds and personalities, but they all share one important trait: a love of meeting people.

Powered by Volunteers
Pup Patrol is made possible thanks to the incredible dedication of our volunteer handlers and their dogs. These teams generously donate their time to help create memorable moments for passengers, visitors, and airport employees alike.
The program first launched in 2016 and has since become one of the airport’s most recognizable and heartwarming traditions.

Bringing Pensacola Hospitality to the Terminal
At PNS, we’re proud of the role we play as the front door to our community. The Pup Patrol is a perfect reflection of the warm, welcoming spirit that defines Pensacola.
So the next time you’re traveling through the airport, keep an eye out for a furry friend wearing a Pup Patrol vest. Stop by, say hello, and grab a photo — they’re always happy to meet a new friend.
Because sometimes the best part of your trip has four paws and a wagging tail.
